What Is Udyog Aadhar?

Udyog Aadhar is nothing but a government registration that is provided along with a recognition certificate and a unique number in order to certify small/medium businesses or enterprises.

The central motive behind the launch of this facility was to offer a way to the government to provide the maximum benefits to medium or small-scale businesses or industries in India, who are registered via MSME through their Aadhar Card Number.

The owner, director or proprietor of the entity will provide his/her 12-digit Aadhar Number, whether the enterprise or entity is a sole proprietor, an LLP, a Private limited company or anything else. It should have the recognition certificate provided via the MSME registration process.

Who Should Get Udyog Aadhar?

Almost every type of business entity can obtain Udyog Aadhar, be it Hindu Undivided Family, Proprietorship, one-person company, Partnership Firm, production company, limited company, private limited company, limited liability partnership, co-operative societies or any association of persons or any other undertaking.

But you should know that there are a set of criteria that an entity has to meet in order to be classified as a medium, small or micro enterprise for obtaining the MSME registration.

If you own a company or an enterprise, then you should check if your entity can be classified as a medium, small or micro industry under the criteria defined in the MSMED Act, 2006 for checking your eligibility.

Particulars needed:

Your Personal Information:

Your name, your 12-digit unique Aadhar number your registered mobile number and your social category from the options like General, SC, ST and OBC.

Details About the Enterprise/Entity. You will have to file a separate Udyog Aadhar if you own more than one entity or enterprise. You can fill it as Enterprise-1 and Enterprise-2. You will also have to select the “Type of Organization” from the drop-down list.

Correspondence Details:

Complete postal address of the company/enterprise/entity including info about the district, pin code, state, email address and mobile number.

Carry Forward Info:

Particulars like the date on which your enterprise started and the information regarding the previous registration through SSI, EM1, and EM2 including the UAM registration number.

Bank Details:

Bank account number along with the IFSC code of the concerned branch where your enterprise’s account is active. If you don’t have the IFSC code of the concerned branch, you can obtain the same on the bank’s website.

Classification of Your Enterprise:

You will have to mention the mainline activity of your enterprise from the “services” or “manufacturing.” If 80% of the total are service operations and 20% manufacturing, then, you will have to go with “Services”.

Total Investment:

The total number of workers employed in your enterprise and the total amount of money (in lakhs) that you have invested in your enterprise.

NIC Code or National Industrial Classification Code
The total number of workers employed at your organization
Current activities of your firm
Email ID and mobile number of the entrepreneur

Guidelines for filling Online Udyog Aadhaar Form:

All fields are important and required. Do not leave any field blank.
Name of owner: The name fields should match strictly as per name written on aadhaar card. Keep the aadhaar card in front of you while filling the form.
Social Category– The Applicant may select the Social Category (General, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Castes (OBC).
Gender– Select correct gender of business owner.
Physically Handicapped– If business owner is handicapped then select YES or by default it will be selected NO.
Name of Enterprise– Please fill the name of your business or Enterprise. If you have more than one business then you need to fill the form for each business separately.
Business activity– Provide detail of your business. Nature of work or service. Do not write service provider instead write what service your business provides or what product you manufacture.
Type of Organization– The Applicant may select from the given list the appropriate type of the organisation.
PAN Number – The Applicant have to enter PAN Number in case of Co Operative,Private Limited, Public Limited and Limited Liability Partnership. For other business type enter owner PAN card number.
Address of Plant / Factory – Please enter complete address of factory with building / shop no , building name, road name, area, city, dist and state with pin code.
Office address – Please enter complete address of office with building / shop no , building name, road name, area, city, dist and state with pin code.
Date of Commencement– Select the date when your business was started. It has to be past or current date.
Bank Detail –Provide bank IFSC and Bank account no. Provide saving bank account if business bank account is not there.
Employee/staff : Total number of staff / employee.
Upload Aadhaar Card – Upload photo of aadhaar card for verification.
Upload Pan Card – Upload photo of PAN card for ID verification. If you do not have pan card you can also upload Driving license/ passport/voter ID card
